My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

COURTESY LISTING for BABYDOG. This dog is not at Oregon Dachshund Rescue. For information please contact Jenell at ODR, Inc. 503 313 3220, jrangan@comcast.net

BABYDOG is a little medium length haired black Chiweenie (with white on his chest) who is finding himself in need of a forever family. He is sweet and loving and wants to be your best friend for life. We're still learning about BABYDOG, but we believe he will do best in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) and only older children (over age 12), who are familiar with the special needs of Dachshunds. Like all Dachshunds, BABYDOG is high energy and enjoys playing and warming his little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around his neighborhood, BABYDOG needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.

ODR, INC. ADOPTION CRITERIA (aka Our Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember these are rescues, many were surrendered because of these issues.

Remember, BABYDOG is not at Oregon Dachshund Rescue, so for more information please contact Jenell at ODR, Inc. 503 313 3220, jrangan@comcast.net
