Vic's Story...
"You put your arms around me and I am HOME"

Vic in New Orleans is in a pickle. His elderly owners had to move due to their health and Vic cannot go with them. Thankfully, the rest of the family members are doing right by Vic and reaching out to rescue rather than dumping him in a shelter. We especially want to help good folks like these!

Vic is almost nine years old, about 60#, healthy, super happy and friendly. He is up-to-date on vet stuff and neutered. He loves kisses and belly rubs. We are told that he is good with dogs and people, but has never been around children or cats so we don't know how he'd be.

Ideally, we'd love to see Vic go right to an ADOPTIVE home. If you'd like to apply, do so at Vic's adoption donation is $250.

In the meantime, we are looking for a FOSTER home for Vic ASAP. Apply to foster at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vic, a New Orleans Weimaraner dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Weimaraner for sale in New Orleans, or seeking a Weimaraner dog from a breeder in New Orleans.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Orleans already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Orleans breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Weimaraner breeders who help with Weimaraner rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Orleans paves the way for another one to be saved.
