Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This beautiful little princess is Miss Charlotte Elizabeth Harris. Not long ago, Charlotte and her entire family, which included her six teeny tiny, 3 week old puppies, their daddy and another female, were dropped off at the local county shelter. The pleas for help, by Dachshund lovers everywhere, were flooding Facebook pages. It was quite clear this little family was in need of immediate rescue! DREAM submitted a request to the shelter officials that same day, requesting authorization to take possession of Charlotte and her six puppies; all severely under fed and all were crawling with fleas! The following Monday morning, first thing, an amazing DREAM volunteer was at the shelter door ready to transport the little Harris family to one of our great veterinary clinics. The other two adults were fortunately rescued by another organization.
Early indications were, that Miss Charlotte appeared to be paralyzed, but reports came back that it was not "spinal," that she could bear some weight on her left leg, could potty on her own, wagged her tail and has since begun hobbling around some! Her foster mom tells us that she is sweet, fragile and absolutely beautiful! She has big brown eyes that follow foster mom, everywhere she goes! Charlotte is a wonderful momma dog and her puppies are surviving and thriving! The are starting to gain weight, are gaining strength and are becoming more curious about the world around them. Welcome to rescue Momma Harris and babies!
