My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, i'm Benson and I also answer to Benny. I had a frightening time getting to where I am today. I was spotted in the woods and animal control was called to come & get me and they had to use one of those pole thingys to catch me and I was so so scared. It didn't stop there either. I was brought into a shelter with loud noises and all these different ppl that i never seen before so I just knew I had to protect myself! Yep i was was a bit of a meanie at the shelter and everyone was scared of little ole me, that was just my plan! I don't like to dwell on my past but but even up until then i wasn't loved as mush as I hear a dog should be loved, I mean if a pup is truly loved do they end up in the woods being super skinny with super long nails and not even neutered?? I don't think so. So the SPCA called the PLDP girls bc they knew there was a foster mom that opens her home to little tykes just like me, and this is when I started to get better, slowly, very slowly... I probably sound like a 100 pound dog - HA!, just all but 7 pounds of my sassy self. I was snappy with my foster parents for months, sometimes they would cry thinking I was just never going to trust, it's just been a long haul - and I can still be a stinker but my foster mom reads be like a book now as I do give really good "i'm scared" signs. I am hoping I find a forever home that will continue to work with me. I have learned to cuddle and to be pet, to have a leash put on and taken off me. I can wear warm sweaters in the winter too. These may sound like normal things but I needed to learn that I wasn't going to get hurt during any of these things. I love to buddy around with my foster dawgs, I'm not too much of a player but I do enjoy hanging out with them. I can live without those pesky felines, they are just too fun to bark at, they are all scared of me too! (don't tell them but if any of them turned around and smacked be i would prob pee myself). I am crate trained, i love to chew on bully sticks and i do randomly play with a toy - which was a huge accomplishment apparently, my foster mom cried (she cries pretty easy). Sunning in a chihuahua's heaven and I love to do that too. I love to follow around my foster mom's 2 year old grandson, she knows I wouldn't harm him, i love him - but foster mom has also taught him how to respect us dogs over the last year. I have turned into a loving dog. We are guessing I am about 8 years old, I had a dental last year and needed 19 teefers out - yes 19!!, no wonder i was so miserable. I did feel a better after my dental, but I am still a grouchy little man, I just can't help it, I'm trying!! So I am ready for my forever home and I hope it comes soon, this place is nice and all but i would love more one on one with my very own human/s. Please contact PLDP if you have any questions about me, I would love to meet you!! Must be no more than 100 mile drive from Pa zip 19076 or De zip 19709
