My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We must go together!

They are Cody & Jake, Tuxedo cats from the same litter. They were born in December 2008, they are 6 years old, in EXCELLENT health...they have NEVER had ANY need to go to the vets outside of vaccination, neutering and wellness exams. Both COMPLETELY housebroken, have been indoor cats their entire lives, have NEVER ONCE sprayed or pottied outside their litterbox. I had them neutered at 14 weeks old, right when we took custody of them (March 2009). Neither have EVER eaten canned cat food, they refuse to eat anything that is not crunchy, so their teeth are in VERY good health. Both are micro-chipped and I have the paperwork and login info for both accounts. They are not licensed and their last vaccinations (3 year boosters for rabies & distemper) took place in July of 2010. I will get their vet records to you this week. They have been WELL cared for and they are excellent groomers, they are both very soft and clean. They are a little timid with strangers, but both are very affectionate, sweet boys, they still play together and are very funny together. They have lived and slept on the same bed with a 60 pound pit bull their last 5.5 years. They get along great with dogs, and have no fear of them. They have never been around another cat, so, I will let you know how they get along with Dexter's cats after we take possession of them on Friday. The youngest child they have had contact with is my 7 year old nephew who they love and get along great with, but he is very respectful and calm, so I am not sure how they would get along with younger children. They have never lived with children.

Cody, about 12 pounds, is a lap cat, loves to sleep beside or on top of his owner. Cody is mellow, tolerates being held and carried around. Cody does not seek out affection until it's sleeptime/naptime, then he loves to be pet and purrs like crazy.

Jake, about 10 pounds, is the more affectionate, always purring, always BEGGING to be pet, but prefers to sleep in the catbed at night and for naps. He is a little less mellow, and does not like to be held or carried.

Both love CRUNCHY cat treats and are not picky about what kind of cat kibble they get, I have always just left a bowl of cat food up on a dresser where they eat at their leisure. They have never had problems with diarrhea. Both love to eat plants, but are both scared to death of the squirt bottle and a quick shake of any water bottle is more than sufficient warning to stop them dead in their tracks from ANY misbehavior.

They are INSEPARABLE and MUST be adopted together. Dex and I will foster them as long as it takes for them to be adopted together. I am willing to pay one of the adoption fees, as an incentive for them being adopted together, unless you advise against this. I can also provide to the adopter an expensive/clean/large cat carrier (big enough for both cats), 3 catbeds, a big litterbox, catfood bowls and their favorite toy, a fishing rod with a cat tail on the end. I am willing to work with you guys and do whatever it takes to get them adopted TOGETHER to a GOOD HOME. For their care during the adoption events, I can provide their food, food and water bowls, cat litter, small catbox, whatever you need...and if possible I would like them to be placed in the same cage.
