Sadie is around 6-8 years old and she's a real brindle beauty! She may have a little grey in her muzzle, but she's got a lot of pep in her step. She's active, playful, and very friendly. Sadie loves spending time with people. She's not a fan of other dogs or cats, and at this point in her life she'd prefer a kid-free home. She's a mature girl who's well-mannered and will make a great companion, adventure buddy, and best friend. If you'd like to spend your days playing fetch or going for long walks, and your nights snuggling with a furry best friend, Sadie might just be the girl for you!
The SPCA of Westchester works hard to find permanent homes for our adoptable dogs. Families interested in dogs listed as “Special Adoptions” will work with our trainer to insure that the adoption is the correct placement for that dog. During this time, the dog’s bio will still appear on PetFinder, marked “Adoption Pending”. If another family is interested in that dog, they can fill out an adoption application and leave it for the trainer. In the event that the adoption does not work out, the next application received will be considered as the next potential candidate. The trainer will only work with one family at a time that she deems is a valid candidate for that adoption. Thank you for your understanding.
Please fill out an Adoption Application if you'd like to jumpstart the adoption process. To obtain an Application, please click or copy and paste the following link into your computer browser: http://www.spca914.org/forms/dogadopt2012.pdf or email Lisa@spca914.org.
No appointment is necessary to come in and meet/adopt an animal unless noted differently above. You may also fill out an Application when you get here. We do same day adoptions. Please note, we do NOT hold animals, nor do we accept deposits in advance. Even if you have discussed coming in to meet an animal or have an approved Application with us this does not necessarily guarantee you will get that particular puppy or dog. Also note, even if approved to adopt from us, if you have a dog(s) at home they MUST meet the dog(s) you are interested in adopting from here to ensure they get along before you can officially adopt. All Dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (age appropriate) and come with a free 7 day Veterinarian check from a participating Vet!
Our hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday's 1pm-4pm. High Kill Shelter/Southern Rescues, both Puppies and Adults are $325, All Puppies are $325 and Local Stray Adults over 1 year of age are $175 and up. Seniors and Lonely Hearts Club members are $65. Please visit: http://www.spca914.org/adoptanimal.htm to read our Adoption Policy and Procedures in full.

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
