Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Shanae and I am a Scarlet Macaw believed to be between 5 and 8 years old. My foster family sometimes calls me Shanaynay. I came into rescue when my mommy unexpectedly passed away. I was eating seeds only, but I am now learning to like chop, veggies, pellets, and bird bread. I absolutely LOVE nuts in the shell. They are my favorite - any kind, just remember, no peanuts for parrots! I never had a cage until I came into rescue and all these nice "fans" chipped in to buy me my new cage. I really do like it and will go there when I get tired or hungry. I am just learning to trust and can be nippy at times if you’re pushy or if I am scared. I only step up sometimes as I'm not really sure if I trust anyone yet, I just need some time to get to know you is all. I had not been handled in a while and am a shy girl who likes to interact from afar. If you have the time to let me trust you and the patience to work with me, I have a lifetime of love to give. While I sit here and wait for you to come and meet me to see if I belong in your family, maybe you could send me a gift or two?
