My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Jackie and I am a beautiful Blue & Gold Macaw. At first, I was afraid of my foster mommy because I was in a new environment, but now I absolutely love her. I do some tricks like waving my hand and saying hello and when my foster mom says “where’s the my pretty girl?”, I show her my wings especially - if there’s a treat involved! I do also often mumble and sometimes say bad words though, so try not to encourage me too much on that end. I love almonds, apples, and oranges – they are my favorites. I also eat my bird pellets and some fresh fruits and veggies. I'm kinda picky, but my foster mommy is helping me out with that. I am protective of certain toys in my cage, so you just need to be aware of that. I do know how to fly even with my wings trimmed, so please make sure that when we go outside that I am either in a predator proof cage, travel crate, or in a harness. I also love bath time, especially on my bird stand out in the sun! I do step up, but only after I get to know you and feel I can trust you. I can be very loud at times, but, after all, I am a macaw!! I do prefer women over men, but maybe if you come meet me, we can figure out together if I am the right bird for you? I hope you will come meet me very soon.
