My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER UPDATE 10/1/15!! We have had Deacon about 11 days and there have been some big changes in the last few days:
Deacon is now beginning to want affection; he got up this AM and wanted his belly rubbed instead of rushing to get out of the crate. Deacon is fully crate trained, and last night he settled into the crate before he was told to go to bed. He sleeps through the night (from midnight to 7am). He wakes up and will whine to let you know he needs to go out and do his business, then he will go back to bed for a while. Deacon is also house trained and will sit by the front door and whine until you take him out. A dog that lets you know when he needs to go, fantastic!!!
Deacon does well with other dogs, but he wants to play. He and our dog will play (HARD play) for a while and then both settle down for rest. So if the adopting family has another dog, he would do best if that dog is also playful.
Deacon is a dog that needs exercise; all this rain hasn’t really allowed for that, so he’s getting a little cabin fever. Of course, as Deacon is still a puppy, he still gets into things, but that’s to be expected. Due to his exercise needs, Deacon would do best with an active family, and ideally in a home with a yard to run around and play in.
We believe he is a Siberian Husky/ Labrador mix, so anyone interested should be aware and do some research on the Siberian Husky breed so that they can appreciate Deacon’s character traits. He is a GREAT dog, but he is not your typical Lab mix.

Meet DEACON!! Deacon is an active 7 month old Labrador/Husky mix. He is a fun dog who is great with other dogs and people. Deacon has a lot of energy so he is looking for a home with an active family.
Here is Deacon's message from his foster home:
"I am now with a Foster Family & their dog, Mollie. I am about 7 months old and I am a perfect mix of of dog - Labrador (lovable, friendly, silly, pretty) and a Husky (loyal, trusting and protective). I like being with an active family. Oh, yes, I love children and people. I now sleep in my a crate at night and tell my Foster’s when I need to go “out.” I have made friends here and at a nearby dog park. I love to run, I mean RUN! So, if you like exercise, I will join you to help keep you healthy."
Stay tuned for some cute videos of Deacon at the dog park :)
