Kitty's Story...
Hello! How are you? My name is Kitty and I'm a 10 year old Newfoundland. I was brought to the shelter by my owners, who were looking to downsize and could no longer care for me. So now I'm here looking for a new home. I do well with other dogs and kids, but have never been with cats before.

Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and will have a microchip. Now all I need is a quiet home to spend my golden years in. Do you have room in your house and heart for a sweet heart like me? The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kitty, a Youngwood Newfoundland dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Newfoundland for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Newfoundland dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Newfoundland breeders who help with Newfoundland rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
