Brogan's Story...
Brogan is a shy, lap-loving cuddler. I seriously find him to be one of the most affectionate cats I have rescued. Just pure and sweet. He was trapped and taken to a shelter, when he exhibited signs of being severely depressed. There is nothing sadder than a cat that lays in the same position for hours with his head hung down between his paws. We just could not stand to see him this way. Once out, he was still scared, but with patience and kindness he now is happy again in his foster home. Brogan is very gentle and calm. He is a large kitty so picking him up is not easy, but he is ok with it as long as you scratch his chin ;) He really shows a lot of affection to his foster mom - he licks her hand, chews on her hair and talks to her. Brogan does give gentle love bites, so no very young children in the home would be best. Grade school aged and above should be fine. He has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and is microchipped. He would respond best to a woman or a very kind and patient man who takes the time to make him feel comfortable. An application, home check and adoption fee of $70 is required. Discount available to seniors, military/veterans, and on disability. Brogan just needs someone to love. He will return your love from the depths of his being.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brogan, a Eureka Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Eureka, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Eureka.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Eureka already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Eureka breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Eureka paves the way for another one to be saved.
