My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What a face - what a lovely boy - what a sad story =( Care Bear was rescued from a junkyard lot in Queens. The person who now owns the lot told us Care Bear was there when he bought the lot 6 months ago. He didn't even even have a name ='( Care Bear lived outside in the rain, the snow and the cold. He was thrown table scraps to eat and chained to a pole. No one loved him and he so longed to make friends with everyone. When we got him, he was covered in dreadlock-like mats that hurt his skin and he was infested with fleas. We had him at the groomer and that's why his fur looks a little choppy in the pics. he is now mat and flea-free. Despite all of this, Care Bear is loving and kind towards people. He is mild mannered, easy to lead on a leash and likes to be pet. He seems to bask in any attention given to him. This shows you how animals forgive very easily and do not ask for anything but your love and care - it's all so sad - it's hard to even write. We think he is about 6-7 years old. He is overweight at this point and we are working on getting his weight back to normal. The excess weight seems to be bothering his legs, but we think once he drops a few pounds, he will feel a whole lot better. We are taking him on lots of leisurely walks now and will feed him low-cal food. The vet suggested glucosomine for now to ease any pain. Care Bear is interested in other dogs, but we haven't seen any aggression whatsoever so far. Please ladies and gentlemen, can you open your home and heart to help this boy? He is gorgeous - just like a real-life teddy-bear =) For immediate consideration, please download our application from www.bobbicares.petfinder.org and email it to bobbicares2@aol.com. Thank you so much!
