Twiggy's Story...
Twiggy was brought to us by a concerned rescuer who found her deserted and possibly pregnant. She has been full of personality right from the start. She was so thin when found, we named her Twiggy after the famous fashion model. Now she is a round kitty. She is very talkative and will talk back to anyone who talks to her. We think she is a young adult, born in about 2013 to mid-2014, but she is still playful and lots of fun. She has pretty tuxedo markings and amber eyes. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for FeLV and FIV. Twiggy has been fostered with other cats and does well with most, but not all, other cats. She seems to be one of those cats that has her own opinions on things. She likes who she likes. She is very much a lover with people and dogs, but she needs someone who understands that every once in a while she prefers not to be petted more than once or twice. For that reason we recommend no young children in her home. Her sunny personality comes out best when she has new things to do & see in her environment. She loves exploration & activity. She likes to play with dogs, so she needs cat tolerant doggie friends. To meet this super kitty, call 540/586-6100 or go to to complete an Adoption Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Twiggy, a Bedford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
