My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Major and I recently found my way to DREAM. Since I was a stray, we are not really sure how old I am - they guess I am between 3-6 years old. I am such a sweetheart and love all of the people, dogs, and children I have met. I am currently making great progress on crate training and I am trying really hard to get the house training down. I am a smart boy and really love to please. It only took a week for my foster mom to teach me to sit. I love to play fetch, go on walks, cuddle, sleep in the bed under the covers, play with my doxie foster sisters, and run around in the yard. I would prefer to go to a home with no cats as I like to chase after them (they are too interesting not to).

If you are interested in adopting Major, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform.shtml. Major 's adoption fee is $450. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Major will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group, and we focus on the Atlanta, North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
