My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This miracle baby is Link. He came to GPRO as a puppy, dob 3/2015, after suffering unbelievable injuries and neglect, including a lower back injury causing him partial paralysis, his left rear leg was broken in two places, and right rear leg was mangled beyond repair. There was no option but to amputate the right leg, and his left rear leg was successfully surgically repaired. Link then started the long road to recovery and has completed physical therapy June 2015 to Nov. 2015. He has gained strength and control in his lower back and rear leg, and has gained significant control of his bowels and bladder, and he can use his front legs to pull himself around quite well but he can't stand and balance without assistance. He is reliant on a wheelchair or assistance using a rear harness for mobility.

Through it all Link has been the happiest pup; he is social and a happy go lucky guy! He enjoys dog friends of all sizes and loves to play, he adores kids, he never meets a stranger, and is just a total lovebug! He has been looking for his fur-ever family for many months; yes he requires a lot of extra work, but he's worth it! Please watch his video to see how he maneuvers on his own as well as with his harness and wheelchair.

Link’s fur-ever home will need to be:
-handicap friendly living space, ie no to few stairs & runners/rugs on slick flooring surface in his living area and path outdoors.
-able to dedicate the time needed for his day to day care & assistance
-a family that he would not be left unattended for long periods on a routine basis
-physically able to support him standing & walking with his rear harness & in & out of his wheelchair

We will send with Link to his fur-ever home with his rear support harnesses, and his brand new custom wheelchair that will last him for quite some time (adjusts in height and width two additional sizes). Link is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and utd on his monthly prevention meds. To apply to adopt Link please complete the adoption application from either our local or national websites: www.nationalpyr.org or www.wix.com/gprofok/gpr.
