If you're looking for a hyper Lab who jumps up and plays nonstop you'll have to look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a gentle, sweet boy who will love you forever, Alonzo is sure to exceed your expectations! Found wandering in rural Arkansas with an adult Lab who we think was his mother, he was picked up by animal control and brought to a shelter where the pair was never claimed. Instantly, the shelter staff recognized Alonzo's sterling temperament: his low tail wag, his soft brown eyes and his gentle demeanor were all sweet invitations to come pet him, and one introduction was all that was needed to make Alonzo a loyal friend. He's blended so well with everyone and he loves making new friends -- human and canine. He plays nicely with all the other dogs and, while others at the shelter compete for attention, Alonzo is the one who sits calmly and perfectly poised, confident that his good behavior will capture all the best attention at treat time! Alonzo is about 5 months old, he weighs about 40 pounds and we can't see much else besides Lab in him.
