Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ziva, is a 2 and ½ year old black and tan coonhound . Ziva was brought to the shelter by good samaritan hikers who found her along a remote road and who thought she looked thin and under nourished, her swollen teats dangling under her belly as she shivered in the cold rain. At the shelter she was named “Ziva” which means “radiance” in Hebrew because Ziva’s spirit seemed so radiant even though it was clear she had known hard times. Because she looked like she was still nursing pups, two shelter volunteers drove her back to the wooded area where she was found. Ziva led them to the rough enclosure with no shade or water where she had raised her puppies and been kept by her owners. Since her puppies were weaned and old enough to be sold off, and because Ziva does not take to hunting, her owners happily surrendered her to Tri-County Animal Rescue Center, glad that they would not have to take care of her for another winter. Because we learned that the boy Ziva grew up with called her “Princess” she is now known as Princess Ziva. Princess Ziva is a quality companion dog who gets along well with all other dogs and would be happy to call any cat her sibling. We believe that one day soon Princess Ziva will be remembered for her rags to riches story: not riches in the sense of money but the riches of love, affection, and loyalty that this sweet, gentle girl will bring to her forever family and that her forever family will certainly want to lavish on her. Would you like to be the person or family who makes Ziva’s rags to riches story come true?
