My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Otter is a great young dog - a bundle of enthusiasm, intelligent, and full of potential. His foster dad jokes that he has one energy setting - High, and loves to play and play.

Otter is still puppyish, with that happy, inquisitive puppy attitude of seeing the world the first time. He loves people and gets along well with other dogs. An older dog might find Otter slightly annoying, but he would be an excellent playmate for your own young pooch who needs a pal to romp with.

Otter is the best dog his foster dad has ever seen at retrieving. He is such a tireless retriever that you could exercise him by throwing a ball in the backyard...and throwing it and throwing it. Otter doesn't give up - if he has lost the thrown ball or toy he will search for it until he finds it, however long it takes. He has been observed using his eyes and nose for half an hour, finally locating a toy he was seeking. What a search and rescue dog he would make!

Someone in his past has worked with Otter on commands - he knows sit, down and will shake paws. He did quite well at his first adoption event, friendly to all and happy to show off his skills. Otter really wants to please and would love to learn new things. He may have been an outdoor-only dog so house training is a work in progress at this time.

Despite his energy level, Otter can settle, especially at night when he enjoys being snuggled and tucked into bed to sleep.
