One-Eye's Story...
Three Cockatiels are in need of new homes. Owner passed away and family is unable to care for them. I didn't find out their names so I am listing this one as One-Eye. He had an injured eye and owner had taken him to Tufts and his eye had to be removed. This happened a few years ago and he/she has adjusted to living with one eye with no problems. We do prefer to adopt out the Cockatiels to homes that are experienced with birds. If you would like to make an appointment to come meet the Cockatiels, please call the shelter at: (860)870-3155

Act quickly to adopt One-Eye. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

One-Eye, a Ellington Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Ellington, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Ellington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ellington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ellington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ellington paves the way for another one to be saved.
