My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MARY is a 2 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 70 pounds. She is an easy dog she fits in where ever she goes. She likes everyone she meets whether they have 2 or 4 feet. She likes to retrieve but does it at her own pace and she may stop to explore a good smell or two while bringing it back. Good with other dogs. Cats unknown Knows some commands sit and come. Okay on lead pulls a bit at first super with an Easy walk Harness. Crate trained may be house trained as she is keeping her run clean at the kennel. Note: Mary comes from the country and has had no exposure to big cities. Placement is limited to single family stand-alone homes. Mary is approved for kids ages 10+

Update (7/6)Mary continues to do well in her foster home with free reign of the house. Her foster mother had a contractor at the house, she was curious about him and let him pet her. She takes treats gently and waits for her turn She is such a happy dog, her tail is always wagging, and she is always smiling. She continues to enjoy playing with the resident dogs and has even gotten the eight-year-old dog to play with her. She doesn’t understand why someone hasn’t come to meet her.

Update (6/18): Mary Mary is anything but contrary! She is such a good, sweet girl. She has met the three resident dogs (two FM and a M). She has bonded with my two year old lab, they are now BFF and play non-stop. She knows that my 8 year old does not want to play much and respects that. She crated last night without any issues. Her tail never stops wagging and seems genuinely happy just to be loved on and included in play time. We have done a couple of short walks but she is content at this point just to hang out in the back yard and play with my dogs.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has between 50 ~ 80 dogs available for adoption.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit www.lab-rescue.org and complete an adoption application. Within a few days of submitting an application you will hear from an Adoption Coordinator who will guide you through the adoption process.

An adoption fee is charged to cover the cost of veterinary care and a house check is required.

Evaluator says Mary is about 2 years old and is a very sweet and happy girl. Walks well on leash and is dog friendly. She was found by the highway like she was waiting for someone to come get her. The ACO called her and she came right over to greet him with her tail wagging.
