My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Absolutely gorgeous in black, meet our girl, ONYX. Onyx was a stray dog that was hanging around the local grade school waiting to play with the children as the left to walk home each day. The kids loved her and Onxy waited patiently every day to safely walk the kids home. Afraid that Onyx might get run over or as school let out for the summer, Onxy would move on and be left without a home. She is a great girl, very friendly, very playful, and an all around good girl. Onyx rarely barks, but is always ready to go for a walk or spend some time playing. She loves kids and adults and is very loving, gentle, and affectionate. She appeared to be well fed and cared for when she arrived, but no owner coming forward for her.
Onyx is a spayed female, Labrador retriever/Staffordshire terrier mix. She is approx. 18 months old, weighs approx. 45 - 50 lbs., and has been fully vetted. Up to date on vaccines, and on all monthly preventatives for heart worms, fleas/ticks, and parasites. Onyx was testing a light heart worm positive, but has been fully treated and is doing great following treatment. She is ready to head to her new home at any time.
