Hello there, My name is Maria. I am a shy girl - and looking to learn what love and kindness, and a furever home would be like. I'm a 3 year old "party poodle" (my coat is sprinkled like confetti with other poodle colors) Not long ago, myself and several other of my siblings were dumped in the Metro area, with horrible, painful matts, and some of our fur was crudely shaved off – leaving the skin cut and sore. It has taken me a long time to heal, and I am learning to trust again. I’m not bitter or anything, just nervous in new situations. I would need a home without small children, and someone who isn’t gone for too long so I can get the attention & love I really need.
Once I learn I am safe? Pfft – I’m a real lovey-dovey-lady. My friends at NBS Animal Rescue have been sharing new things with me…like fuzzy warm blankets, potty training, and toys. I’m still not sure exactly what I am supposed to do with toys, do you think you could teach me? All I need is a few treats, gentle words whispered in my soft ears, and some encouraging affection and I’m happy to be your friend. Do you have room on your lap and in your home for me?
My friends at NBS Animal Rescue are helping me to find the perfect fur-ever home. All of the dogs in our rescue are have different personalities and needs within an adoptive home. Not all of my friends here at NBS Animal Rescue have the same requirements, so if I’m not be the perfect fit for your family- be sure to check out my other doggy friends too! For me?
These are the things I fur-sure need in my fur-ever home!
- Family who is gone no longer than 5 hour periods.
-Children must be 10yrs or older
- 100% fenced in yard.
If you think I might be the perfect addition to your family please follow these steps:
1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out my adoption application. As an approved adopter, my rescue friends can set up a home visit so I can meet you. Our rescue is 100% run by volunteers, to help your application be processed as quickly as possible, please make sure to….
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pet’s veterinary history.
3.) Call your references too! Let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number, and a rescue team member will need to talk to them on the phone as a reference.
My adoption fee is $250.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food. Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative , spayed/neutered (unless a documented medical reason is on file with your veterinarian). Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
