Hi!
My name is Duke.
I am a one year old, neutered male purebred Blue Great Dane.
I was surrendered because my owners decided to divorce.
I had a bad case of mange but I’m now recovered.
I am special needs because I am untrained.
I had not been trained. I need to learn many basic commands in which my foster momma is now teaching me. So far, I’m learning “Sit” with the help of treats. I am food motivated!
I can now do “Shake” on command.
I still act like a puppy and, like a puppy, I nibble and nip a lot (mouthy).
Until very recently, I was unsocialized and I was unfamiliar on how to play. Now I have toys and foster canine siblings, I’m learning how much fun it is to play with both toys and dogs! I’m so happy!
Since I am now familiar with squeaker toys, I love to fetch and drop it for my foster family.
So far, I am house-broken.
I’m not real crazy about wearing a collar and martingale, however, I do accept wearing a Gentle Leader.
Because I am an European Great Dane, I am a slobbery/drooling dog. I’m thrilled that my foster parents don’t mind it because they have a St. Bernard, so they are used to slobbery messes.
I am learning to be crate-trained. So far, I don’t like it and I do whine about it but, I will go in to make my foster parents happy.
My foster parents keep saying what a good and loving dog I am. They think I’m a really good puppy!
