Foxy and Michelle are two smooth-coated, 4-year-old, micro-mini Dachshunds (weighing 8 pounds or less). Foxy is a red piebald (brown and white), Michelle is a black and tan. Foxy and Michelle are lifelong companions. They were rescued separately, as puppies, latched onto each other for comfort and companionship, and ended up as “forever fosters” with their former rescuer. However, recent problems with the local Animal Control resulted in the girls being moved to Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue where they are currently being fostered. Now, they must find another forever home.

Foxy and Michelle truly love each other, treat one another like sisters, and would be heartbroken to be separated from each other. Michelle is a little shy and takes a few minutes to warm up to new people. But once she does, she is very sweet and loving. Foxy is more outgoing and loves to sit in her person’s lap and cuddle on the sofa while watching television. Both girls are very sweet and affectionate and wag their tails vigorously. They are used to living in a pack, and are non-reactive to other dogs both big and small as long as all of the other dogs are friendly. They both need a refresher course in leash training, Michelle more than Foxy. They love to run around the house and in the back yard chasing each other, and also nap and cuddle together. They give amazing kisses and enjoy following their person everywhere. They are both crate-trained, and reliably house-trained, and they do not mind spending time together in their crate (this is very helpful when traveling), but would also love to sleep in the big bed with their person.

Foxy and Michelle are both spayed, up-to-date on their vaccines, are micro-chipped, and they both JUST had a dental cleaning. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together and remain together in their adopted home. We are looking for a single person, couple, or family with children over the age of 10. We do not know if they are cat-safe as they have never been exposed to a cat. Frankly, most cats are bigger than they are and it should not be difficult to get the girls adjusted to a cat.

If you are interested in this duo, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail. There is an application and a home check. The adoption fee for both Foxy and Michelle is $350.00.
