My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The police were called to the home of a 90 year old woman and her 60 year old daughter. The mother had been sitting in a chair not moving for three days until the daughter finally called the police. They think she had a stroke. When the police arrived at the house they found 6 dogs, 200 cats, and a house covered in filth and feces. The NJSPCA and AC went to the house the next day, but the daughter had quickly managed to get rid of 2 of the dogs and all of the cats except 4. No one knows what happened to all those other animals, but they are keeping a close eye on that house. We said we’d take the 4 dogs and another rescue took the 4 cats. The dogs are all female, all have been spayed, and all were taken to the vet prior to being released to us by the NJSPCA and AC.

Cinnamon, a 19 1/2 yr old poodle, came out of that house terrified. Her entire body was shaking. Poor girl was so scared. The vet had to shave her down due to all the matting. Cinnamon has only one eye and her remaining eye has a cataract. She also tested positive for Lymes and is on Doxycycline. Cinnamon is only able to walk on three legs. Her “owner” said she was "dropped" and X-rays showed an old dislocated hip. Her rear leg is bent so bad it breaks your heart to watch her walk. This little girl has no teeth and is in early renal failure which is common with senior dogs. She is going to our vet to have her eyes looked at.

All four of these dogs have been neglected, but just looking at them it is probably no surprise to learn that Cinnamon and Baby's living conditions were the worst. They were found living in a room by themselves in several inches of excrement and urine. The rest of the house was covered in filth, but the NJSPCA and AC were most upset about Cinnamon and Baby's living conditions. They kept repeating how many inches of feces were in the room that these two poor dogs were forced to live. We are just thankful to the NJSPCA and AC that they are out of that house and safe.

These innocent souls are now searching to live out their golden years with their forever families. Please help us find Cinnamon the loving homes she deserves.
