My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Farfel's Rescue was notified by our compassionate rescuer in Kansas that a strikingly beautiful Poodle...maybe with a bit of Bichon in her mix.. was scheduled for euthanasia in just a few days. Although you can't see it in this photo, Bristol is gorgeous...with the softest and kindest eyes that just reach into your heart. The rescuer spoke of this 18 - 24 month old, 15 lb pup as a gift of love. She saw Bristol as a wonderful and devoted companion for a family with older kids - she was concerned that very young children would intimidate Bristol with loud voices and less than gentle treatment. She also described her as a great friend to gentle canines...she would enjoy the play, long walks together and hanging out at day's end.

We took a look at the sad eyes staring out of the shelter photo (they spoke of difficult times)... and heard the reports of Bristol's carefully wagging tail that spoke of a huge desire to trust and bond for life. We accepted Bristol immediately into our program. She was removed from the shelter, vetted (perfectly healthy), temperament-tested (passed with flying colors) and brought to a nurturing family who will reinforce Bristol's house skills and socialization while she waits for her transport to a new life in Colorado. We've committed to finding Bristol a committed and very loving family who will enjoy her for her devotion, sweetness and strong desire to please. Once Bristol becomes comfortable in her surroundings, she is a friend that will make you laugh at her antics and want to hold her tight just because she's so incredibly cute!

We would love to see Bristol in a home where she becomes a true member of the family. Retirees or individuals who work out of the house would be perfect for this sweet young girl. Bristol appears to have a calm side that loves nothing more than to settle into her person's lap and stay put with an occasional lick and a wiggle of delight at her good fortune. She would love long walks outdoors in the sunshine and is portable enough to bring along on every dog-friendly adventure. Bristol has done well in the car and would be overjoyed with riding shotgun.

Bristol is a non-shedding pup (and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic of breed mixes). She will therefore require periodic grooming...Bristol deserves a spa day immediately with a sudsy bath and a cute haircut. If this doesn't occur in Kansas, Farfel's will be happy to cover that cost at our Denver groomer. Great nutrition and care will keep Bristol's gorgeous coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

We have requested that Bristol be spayed prior to transport. However, if that doesn't happen due to too many dogs and not enough vets in this rural area of Kansas, Farfel's will cover all costs to have Bristol spayed and microchipped at Spay2day in Lakewood immediately after she arrives.

Bristol will arrive on transport in Denver on Tuesday 6/9/15. If interested in this loving and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
