Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Question: Have you ever seen The Flintstones? I had to know who this Barney Rubble is and why I'm named after him. He is kind of short like me, and his feet do look chunky too I guess.....but my foster Basset sisters say I am WAY cuter!
I am a Tri Color boy, and currently my weight is just under 50 lbs. My left front and rear legs are all brown down to my little white tippy toes. I have a classic Basset face complete with furrowed brow, deep set, compassionate, dark brown eyes that twinkle when I'm happy, and a velvety muzzle with droopy lips and yeah.... ok I do drool sometimes, but mainly only when I'm really hot.
I am from Oklahoma originally, but I ran away from home and I'm still just too emotional to open up and talk about it. A kind lady there scooped me up though, took very good care of me and got me to AZBHR where I am SO loved!
I am healthy and up to date on everything I need, very well groomed, polite, house broken, and I even went to the dentist to have the yuck removed from my teeth. The vets seem to think I may be 7 years, but that is primarily just because of the condition my teeth were in.
I do tend to be nervous in new situations and I bow down to humans sometimes when they come to pet me, but my counselor says this is normal and I am starting to trust again. I dearly love attention and belly rubs. I also love to be social with other dogs BUT I don't like bigger dogs and I won't bother to lie about it -I do snap at them. Other dogs, my size, seem to just love me though and I am very popular at parties where everyone wants to hug and kiss me! Here's a picture of that just yesterday...
What I would like is a family who will cherish me and keep me safe always. I have so much of myself to give and I also have a yellow bouncy ball that squeaks and my very own fleecy blankie that I'd love to share with you.
