Kauai's Story...
This litter of puppies, Kaipo, Kimo, Kanani, Kauai and Kahlua, were pulled from a kill shelter along with their mom when they were about 3 weeks old. They are the sweetest, most social dogs! They love to play and are just happy-go-lucky little guys! Mom is a Papillon/Sheltie mix and we believe dad was a Shih Tzu. They are about 9 weeks old now and weigh in at about 3 pounds! They are all currently in foster care in West TN and will be transported once an adoption is finalized. If you'd like to add one of these awesome puppies to your family, please visit our website at www.goofyfootrescue.org and fill out an online application or download one and email it back to us!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kauai, a Southington Papillon/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Shih Tzu for sale in Southington, or seeking a Papillon/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Southington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Papillon/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southington paves the way for another one to be saved.
