Morty's Story...
Morty. Isn't it a great name for such a handsome fellow like myself? I sure think it is! It's hard to believe that at about three and a half months old, my siblings and I are still single, but I guess that's just how life goes sometimes. I'm sure it won't be long before someone comes in and scoops us up! Who wouldn't want a young cute all American mixed breed to spend their free time with? We are here to please our humans and doing so makes us SOOOOO happy! We also love our play time, so I hope you are ready for a lot of time playing fetch and tug-o-war if you take one of us home! Don't we sound just perfect?!?!? Please come down and visit us today! We can't wait to meet you!
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! www.capeannanimalaid.org 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Morty, a Gloucester Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
