My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Fellows, we have just the little dog for you!!! Scrappy is a charming little Chihuahua dachshund mix who is in rescue as he wasn’t happy when his family kept adding new kids! His family was heartbroken to give him up but they wanted him to be happy so they all decided he is not doing kids anymore. But---Scrappy is just a lover boy with adults and especially men. He is okay with women but the minute foster dad is home, he’s in his lap with tail wagging. Scrappy is just 4 years old he is quite playful, and he is a bit plump at 9 pounds. Scrappy gets along with other smaller dogs and his little tail is always wagging as long as there are toys to play with or someone to pay attention to him. Scrappy is used to having a stay at home adult and we believe he would be terribly lonely home alone all day. A fenced yard is required unless you are a devoted walker. Gentleman, if you are a young retiree or work from home, this is your dog! Scrappy is house trained and in bad weather will use a puppy pad. He will make you laugh with his happy nature. Scrappy is with Happy Hound Rescue, a 501c3 all volunteer rescue and is in a foster home. He is neutered, is current on all shots, worming, and he has a HomeAgain microchip. His adoption fee is $350 ..
