My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Copper because my coat is a beautiful reddish gold color. I am an 11 lb Chihuahua and BostonTerrier mix with a charming underbite. I am estimated to be about 3 years old. I love the ladies but can take a little longer to warm up to men. I go in my crate on my own to play with toys and relax when my foster mom is busy. I will cry softly if you close me in though. I would much rather be with my people. I get along great with my foster dog brother. He is a big guy. Whenever he is not looking, I love to sneak over and grab his bone to chew on. We go back and forth. I steal his, he steals mine but we never fight. I just love toys I can chew on like deer antlers and rawhide bones. If you need a quiet companion who loves to spend time with you, I am your guy. I am up for playing in the yard, going for a walk, snuggling on the couch or sharing your bed at night. I don't take up very much room.
I am pretty good about doing my business outside once I get adjusted to a schedule. I do not have accidents in my crate.
I have recently been neutered, am up to date on vaccinations, negative for heartworm and Lyme disease and am microchipped. I am happy in my foster home but oh so ready for a home I can call my own.

I am being fostered in Franklin, MA and my adoption fee is $350.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
