Hershell (Guest)'s Story...
Hershell was found in a small town, running the streets with two other dogs. His foster, John, began feeding the dogs and took Hershell in after his two dog friends got runover, and soon after poor Hershell got shot in the arm. He's been with John for a year and is now in tip-top shape for adoption. He's crate-trained, very good with small dogs, and also good with big ones with a proper introduction. Hershell's good on a leash and in the car. He's also completely calm around kids, no matter how loud they get. His favorite thing to do (besides go on walks) is to be chased around the back yard -- whether it's by a dog or a person. For more questions about Hershell, contact John at John.Karn@sedgwickcms.com or 706-599-7260.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hershell (Guest), a Decatur Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever for sale in Decatur, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog from a breeder in Decatur.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Decatur already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Decatur breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Decatur paves the way for another one to be saved.
