My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

05-14-08 Ms. Effie is a black & white fur-kid, DOB 01-01-05. She is small & solid, healthy, friendly, yet a bit shy.

She is going to take someone with time & patience then should be a lovely house pet. Such a sweet little girl. She just needs someone to love her and let her blossom! .

Ms. Effie went directly into foster care with Judy V. Her vet appt. has been made. She will be spayed, vacc., dental, anything else Doc deems needed.

The foster updates on his/her likes & dislikes will help you know if this fur-kid is suitable for your home.

05-17- Ms. Effie seems to have some vision problems, possibly juvenile cataracts undiagnosed previously.

This foster mom has a lot of experience with pups with juvenile cataracts, some nearly blind. We are very fortunate that this fur-girl was released from the breeding program rather than passing along this defect to puppies.

Doc will be consulted when she is spayed.

05-19 Ms Effie is coming around slowly, a bit more comfortable as the days pass.

05-23 Ms Effie came through complete vet work just fine. Doc confirms she has cataracts.

Thus we hope for an adopter with vision problems that will have empathy for Ms. Effie, not move furniture about so she may navigate easily.

The adoption fee ranges from $150 to $300.

The fee is based upon veterinary care, age & size of dog.

The higher adoption fee on the younger small dogs helps care for the older dogs that take longer to find fur-ever homes.

Senior citizens and disabled receive a discount.

We also offer a discount to those in uniform keeping us safe.

Land of the free because of the brave.

Our adoption process begins with the e-mail or phone call to us. Please be prepared to furnish your complete name, address, telephone number, your veterinarian contact information & at least two personal references. We will then call you to ask a series of questions.
