My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ms Sweet Pea somehow found herself in a shelter and HBHR was lucky enough to pull her and save her life. Sweet Pea is probably a doxy- beagle mix and is as sweet as her name! She is a young energetic female who is about 3 years old and weighs about 23 lbs. She is a happy young dog who is full of energy and love. She enjoys playing and wrestling with her foster brother. She absolutely loves a good game of chase and will fly around the back yard with her doggie friend. She also will join in on a game of tug with her people.

Sweet Pea is house trained and has had no accidents. She learned to use a doggie door in seconds and loves to be able to come and go as she chooses. Sweet Pea sometimes likes to sleep in bed with her foster parents, and other times will choose to sleep on the couch in the den. She is very happy when the alarm goes off in the morning, and sees it as the start of playtime. It is hard to oversleep with Sweet Pea encouraging you to get up and play!

She loves to go on walks and gets very excited when the harnesses and leashes come out. She enjoys meeting people and other dogs when she is out for a walk. She will sometimes ignore cats she sees on walks, but may bark at them.

Sweet Pea is crate trained and will go in on her own for a tasty treat. She announces that she does not like it much when left behind, and will also sound off when her foster parents return home from work. Sweet Pea has a deep loud bark for a little girl. She enjoys "talking" when playing, when she wants your attention, and when she wants out of her crate, so an apartment setting or shared walls arrangement would not be a good home for her.

Sweet Pea gets very enthusiastic when she plays. She can be a bit mouthy and likes to "play-bite," so she will do better in a home with no small children.

She really enjoys cuddle time with her foster family. She likes to have a lap to curl up in during TV watching time. She will cuddle for awhile with her foster mom, then will go cuddle with her foster dad. Her ideal home will be with an energetic owner or family, hopefully one with another young beagle for her to play with or someone that will take her on daily walks or to the dog park. She is an adorable and loving girl who keeps her foster parents entertained. Her enthusiasm is contagious!
