Jasper's Story...
Jasper is an exceptionally friendly dog that loves people and will try to wag his tail off when he sees you. This boxer/pit mix has the classic underbite and rounded head. He knows sit and come and is working on stay. Only barks at the fence if another dog starts first. Enjoys his toys like ropes and bones but will give them up when requested. Walks well on a leash with only a few gentle reminders to stay in the heel position. Likes to hold a leash in his mouth like he is taking himself for a walk.

Has been fostered for a weekend and his energy level dropped dramatically after one day. No special diet needs. Respects that older and smaller dogs don’t want to play and is learning to adjust his high energy play style to other dogs that do want to play. Has a great play bow. Enjoys riding in the car and sharing a couch next to his human.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jasper, a Santa Barbara Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
