This sweet shy girl wandered up in my yard in the most recent snow storm. I found her the next morning shivering with frozen ice tangled in her fur. She was so timid but the neighbor's dog helped give her the confidence she needed to let me pick her up. I immediately took her inside and warmed her up and offered her food and water which she happily accepted. She is now fully vetted and loves playing with all the other dogs she is fostered with. She also plays with the cats. She is still shy with us humans but she is very happy when she is petted and loved on. It's just something she's still learning to trust. She is very smart and learned to use the pet door immediately. She is a quiet girl but she does do this little whisper/talk and it is too funny. She definitely has a southern Darlin is a petite girl at about 35 pounds and is estimated to be around 2-3 years old. She is fully vetted and a very healthy girl. She will do best with a family that can be patient with her human trust issues and preferably a home with another dog she can learn from.

About KEG Animal Rescue - CT

About Our Rescue Group...

KEG Rescue was started in 2009 and became a Chartered Non Profit on May 28, 2010. It started as a few people wanting to help the many unwanted puppies and dogs in our area. We are one of many rescues in this area as there are so many homeless pets. All our rescues have a common goal of educating the public about the importance of pet ownership and the benefits of spay/neuter

We do this by private adoptions from our site and also partner with other rescues in New England. We believe that these "throw aways" and "mistakes" deserve a forever home of their own.

WE receive our pups/dogs in many ways- we pull from several kill shelters, dogs that are abandoned, and from people who call who need to surrender their own dogs or whose dogs have had puppies. We also focus on not only the many puppies that are down south we also focus on adults that sometimes are harder to place because of their age/size. It is very easy to fall in love with the puppy face but there are even more adult dogs that are abandoned down south

Come Meet Our Pets...

The puppy/dog you inquired about is still in a southern foster home.

Our Adoption Process...

KEG Rescue is a small rescue . We work with several rescue group from New England to help adopt our pups/dogs and move them into GREAT homes. New England states have worked hard to pass great laws concerning spay/neuter. By passing these laws they there aren't as many "unwanted litters" in the New England States. There are several transport companies that bring southern rescue pups north to their new homes. KEG Rescue utilizes P.E.T.S LLC
( you can check out their transport by visiting their website

Our adoptions are directly thru our website (although we do hope to expand to foster homes in New England if possible). it’s not possible to arrange a meeting of the pup before adoption. This type of adoption doesn't work for everyone and we would be happy to put you in touch with some of our sister groups who have pups on site. The adoption fee covers all of the vet work that has been performed prior to adoption. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate. If you are still interested in adopting from us, please email for an application. We have several adoption coordinators that process the applications and will contact you.
