Facts about Cuatle

  • Breed: Macaw
  • Color: Green
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: $500.00
This is Cuatle. He is approximately an 11 year old Military Macaw, and is presumed male. Cuatle has been at the rescue for quite some time now. Despite our efforts to fully socialize him, he has been very resistant to human interaction. We believe he may have never been handled prior to being surrendered. He has gotten ok with stepping up here and there but he would prefer not to. He does not like to be petted. He is very needy in the sense that he enjoys the company of other macaws, however he tends to quickly bond with them which can in turn can prove troublesome with bird and owner. His ideal home would be preferably one with a retiree or individual who could spend all of their time with him, and who has a lot of patience. Cuatle will need an experienced owner, and does not do well with children.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Birdlink Sanctuary is not open to the public. Any and all visits are conducted on an appointment basis only.

Our Adoption Process...

All interested adopters must have an adoption application on file with us prior to visitation. We strive to find each bird the best possible home that will compliment their personality, and we do believe that the birds pick their new owners, therefore, we do require that potential adopters spend some time with the bird they are interested in. If you seem like a good match for one of the birds, You will be contacted to schedule an appointment to come out and meet the birds. Note that application does not guarantee adoption. Home visits as well as references are generally required to ensure that our birds will not be placed in breeder situations, with hoarders, or other unsuitable environments. We will however, make exceptions for the right home.
