My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Maggie is the pup you want to have around! Maggie, at just 2 - 3 years old and approximately 55 lbs, is just naturally a lover ....when she looks at you with those dark expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Maggie is a truly beautiful Standard Poodle with all the traits that make these very smart and personality-plus dogs one of the most popular breeds around.

Maggie enjoys her time with her mom and human brother so much that she joins them just about everywhere they go...it's so important to Maggie to be a true best friend! She loves her people more than anything..she would definitely be a lap-dog if she could possibly fit. Instead she cuddles close on the couch with her beautiful head draped over her favorite person's leg...an occasional kiss from Maggie is inevitable. She's a sensitive girl and derives so much joy from her time spent with kind, dog-crazy people.

Maggie is a young, healthy dog who loves to have fun . She would enjoy another kind and playful dog to have backyard play with and just hang out in the sunshine. Maggie would have so much fun running loose (in a safe area) playing dog-games. Chuck-it or frisbee is so much fun and Maggie is always open to learning new activities...just say the word and up she jumps for a hike, a run or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood
.
Maggie's foster mom had the following to brag about this sweet Standard Poodle:

Maggie is an absolutely stunning purebred poodle with a beautiful face and the most expressive eyes ever. She's between 2 and 3 years old and just gets smarter and more engaging every single day. She has such a wonderful relationship with my 7-year old son...she's very devoted to him and I imagine would be equally wonderful with other gentle, dog-loving kids. The only time she just can't help herself is when she sees a bunny or a bird...that's just too much for her and she's up for a chase - but learning better skills all the time.
Maggie would shine with positive reinforcement training classes and a leader that enjoys (and has the time) for the weekly classes and follow-up practice at home. Poodles are so smart and love to please once bonded to their people. These classes channel this natural intelligence in a very positive direction

I'm very proud to say that Maggie has been completely non-destructive in the home. She so wants to do what's expected of her and you can see her self-esteem shoot up when she's told she's done well (treats help as well).

Maggie is an extremely affectionate and loving dog! We would love to see her in a home with an active family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or riding) who would enjoy a hike or a run followed by couch cuddling at the end of an outdoor day. Retirees who have the time, energy and passion for a very smart and sweet dog would be perfect. We'd hate to see Maggie left alone all day while her family works full-time. We think she's too sensitive for that. She's such an amazing dog that she can learn to accompany her family just about anywhere.

Farfel's Rescue would like to see Maggie in a home where she'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of hugs. Maggie, being a purebred Standard Poodle, is a non-shedding girl (considered to be the most hypoallergenic of all breeds). She will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her amazing Poodle coat cotton-soft and matt-free.

Maggie is being fostered in Boulder. Applications are being accepted and Meet & Greets will be set up for the placement of this very special dog. If interested in this sweet, truly beautiful and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
