My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Murphy is looking for a foster home. Can you help?
Murphy is currently on medical hold
Murphy is an approximately 5 year old mantle male with natural ears. He was surrendered to a shelter after his owner passed away. A friend of his owners had hoped to be able to keep Murphy but unfortunately they did not have the time or experience to help him adjust to his new situation. Though his age makes him a mature adult don't be fooled, Murphy has plenty of energy and plenty of love to give to his new family. He can be exhuberant when excited and loves to play ball (especially if it has a squeaker). One of the big upsides to adopting a mature dog like Murphy is that he is already house trained. Murphy knows how to sit and shake/give paw. Murphy is often nervous around unfamiliar people and this lack of confidence often leads to him vocalizing quite a bit. Due to his vocal tendencies Murphy needs to be in a single family dwelling. He would prefer to be with his owner as much as humanly possible, in your lap if you will let him. Murphy is a leaner, he really wants to be close and is eager to please. Murphy seems to do well with other dogs, though he prefers the company of people. Murphy has seen a cat in his foster home but they haven't yet had much interaction. He is currently on a medical hold due to a recent fever of unknown origin and loose stool while veterinarians are working on determining the cause and treatment plan.
