My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Doris Day is approx 2-3 yrs old and 33 lbs. She is a pretty girl and looks like an australian shepherd mix. She is a really sweet dog. She does like to eat in peace, without anyone stealing her food. She is very well house trained and does well on a leash. She has been treated for heartworms and is on a monthly preventative.

The state of MA does not allow adoptions of dogs that are heart worm positive. We are required to do a foster to adopt until the dog tests heart worm negative, usually in 4-6 months after treatment.
If you live in MA, there are new requirements for rescue dogs - according to the State Law, all rescues have to be quarantined for 48 hrs at the Ben Elder Kennels in Westport, MA. There is additional cost for this quarantine and new required health cert by a licensed MA vet of $110. We will go over all fees with you via email.
