Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Doogie has got one of the most unusual coats we have ever seen. It is cream underneath with black tips. It almost looks like feathers!. His groomer said he looks like an agouti rabbit. It is really quite striking and people stop all of the time and ask what breed he is… and honestly we have no idea!! He may have some schnauzer in him. He would be a dog to do a DNA test on he is just so interesting. He is a small boy, approx 1 year old and 13 lbs. He did test light positive for heart worms when we rescued him and has been treated and started on a monthly heart worm preventative. He needs some leash training and would probably do better on a harness. We did take him to a trainer and they said he did pretty well, but if he stops and you pull on the leash, he gets very distressed.. so a harness would be a better bet. He is active and “springs’ all over the place when playing with the other dogs just like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh!. He loves to run and play. He also can be vocal, especially at meal time or just when he wants your attention or some treats. He would be great to take to the dog park etc. He likes a yard and would not do well in an apt.
If you are in MA, law does not allow us to adopt heart worm positive dogs.. we can do a foster to adopt and once the dog can be retested and is shown clear of heart worms they then can be officially adopted
