Monkey's Story...
Monkey is a Pekingese mix. Monkey came to be in the shelter when his owner passed away and the rest of the family decided they did not want him. The poor little guy had just lost his best friend in the world and while he was still in mourning was tossed into a cage in a strange noisy place. He actually has a very sweet, playful personality once he warms up to you and is full of energy. Monkey is only 10 pounds and 4 years old. He is being fostered in Harrisonburg Va. His adoption fee is $300. If you would like to be considered in adopting Monkey please complete our on line adoption application. We require a home visit and vet reference. Our on line adoption application can be found on our web site www.potomacpekes.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monkey, a Virginia Beach Pekingese/Affenpinscher dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese/Affenpinscher for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Pekingese/Affenpinscher dog from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese/Affenpinscher breeders who help with Pekingese/Affenpinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
