My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very devoted, we can't help but think of Ramsey. His smile is shining...and just a bit shy. His foster family knows it's morning when Ramsey's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a huge kiss of love.

This curious and really, really smart approximately 12 - 24 month old, about 15 lb Shih Tzu/Poodle mix is a truly great companion. There aren't many visible signs that Ramsey was in a very scary high-kill shelter. He's sometimes shy and can be a bit afraid in certain situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Ramsey bounces back and cuddles just a bit closer on his favorite person's lap. We picture Ramsey as the best friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will. There's also no question that Ramsey would be the most popular guy on the block. Once comfortable, he loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self. Even though Ramsey is usually up for pretty much any activity, he's not pushy or overly yappy. Exercise..perhaps a leisurely walk or a fun hike...and mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans is important to this pup (like all dogs) to keep him happy and well-behaved. it's not that Ramsey requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep her healthy and stimulated.

Ramsey would also enjoy time with older (12+), very gentle, dog-loving kids. He's such an easy pup to bring along. You can just scoop him up and he'll lie happily in your arms. Ramsey derives so much joy from his relationships - we would love to see him in a family that just loves him dearly...he's a great pup who deserves this in his life.

This adorable and really humorous Shih Tzu is a non-shedding guy. Once he gets a sudsy bath and a new hair style, Ramsey will have a beautiful, cotton-soft coat that will get more gorgeous as he gets the benefits of a healthy diet. Ramsey will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat (with the beautiful mask markings) healthy and matt-free.

Ramsey will arrive on transport in Denver on 6/19/15. If interested in this sweet and very devoted companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
