Drake's Story...
Drake is a very handsome, chocolate male who is only 10 months old. He currently weighs only about 40 pounds, but will gain some weight with proper nutrition as he becomes a mature boy. He was found as a stray and has adjusted beautifully while transitioning into the kennel. He has been a very easy dog and has succeeded in being a kennel favorite.

FOSTER UPDATE: We have had Drake a little over 24 hours, and he’s doing great! He quickly figured out that he needs to potty outside. Only one small accident yesterday, and so far today, no accidents. I won’t say completely house trained yet, but it’s looking really good. He slept in the crate last night and did wonderfully, and he ate really well too. He is fitting in well with our pack of three dogs, and our kids really like him as well. We haven’t introduced him to the cat yet, but I’m thinking he won’t have a problem since he seems pretty mellow. Since he’s still a puppy, he’s a little bit of a chewer, but if we redirect him to something he can chew on, he does really well. It’s hard to resist his adorable face. So far it’s such a sweetie pie!! I’m honored to help Drake on his journey to find his forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Drake, a Cincinnati Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
