Reed's Story...
Reed is the kind of dog that will turn you into a "little-dog" person. He's so well-behaved, gentle and calm. His foster mom says he's the most delightful little guy she's ever known. Even the dogs and cats in his foster home knew how great he was as soon as he got there. They accepted him right away and he just loves spending time with all of them. Reed is a wonderful dog and is very loving and friendly. He can be a little shy at first but does warm up to new people. This special little guy has brought so much joy to his foster home and he's now looking to share that love with a forever family. If you want to make him a treasured part of your family, please fill out an application today!

All of our dogs come fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies and bordatella, are microchipped, heartworm tested negative, current on preventatives, dewormed, as well as neutered, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. You will receive an automated confirmation once your application is successfully submitted. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, a volunteer will give you a call ASAP.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Reed, a Cincinnati Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
