My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apollo has finished his racing career and will soon be ready for adoption. He appears to do fine with small dogs and cats. Apollo is 1 1/2. He will be available soon.

My new name is Apollo. I like how that sounds. So far, my career change from racing dog to pet is going really well. I spotted a really cute girl when I was getting ready to leave for the resort. Turns out, she was headed to the same place. Sweet!

It's been a blast so far. The very first day I got a water massage. They gave me a nice back rub while shampooing my fur. I was so relaxed I had to lean on the peoples. It felt great and having a shiny coat can't hurt my chances with the ladies, right?

Today I went on my first field trip. That girl doggie signed up too. Coincidence? I think not. I bet it was my glowing fur and winning smile.

The ride over was great! I stuck my head into the front seat and got scratches the entire way over to the house. The visit at the house was low key, but fun. Another dog basically had us over to show us his place. His person was very nice and he had lots of toys, soft beds and yummy snacks. I hope I get a forever home like his!

After we looked around for awhile, things took a bit of a strange turn. Apparently Boo lives with "cats," not dogs. Not sure what's up with that, but who am I to judge.

I basically pretended I didn't see the cats, because I wasn't sure what I was supposed to say or do. I hope that wasn't rude. Despite my lack of social graces with the cats today, I am completely open minded on the whole cat thing. You pick me to live with you even if you too have cats. (If all you have are cats, you totally need me. Dogs rule. Just sayin'.)
