My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Ranger. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. Ranger's foster was very quick to tell us that he is SO much more handsome than his photo. She said that he has beautiful and expressive eyes (they can't be seen in his photo but they're gorgeous!). She also mentioned his great ears that perk up so straight when something gets his attention. Once he has a much-needed grooming, Ranger's face will show the adorable features of the Jack and the scruffy Benji-like cuteness of a Terrier.

This curious and really, really smart 18 - 24 month old, 20 lb Terrier mix is a truly great companion. Ranger is the perfect size for long hikes in the CO mountains and then snuggling up on the couch for a belly rub and a nap next to his favorite person. .

There aren't visible signs that Ranger was in a very scary high-kill shelter. His foster mom described this handsome boy as perfect (well, almost). She had the following to say about sweet Ranger:

Ranger is a calm yet playful guy who really is pretty wonderful! He's a lovebug who wants nothing more than to warm your lap and be devoted and SO sweet! He's great in the house and as lovable as he can be. Ranger is very good with me, my husband, our 3 kids (from 14 - 18 years old) and our 2 dogs. Ranger is just about the most lovable dog I've ever fostered. His lucky Colorado family is getting a gem!

We picture Ranger as a great friend to retirees. He'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share his love and good will on a daily basis. Ranger would also do well in a family with older kids (10+ is great - old enough to be kind and gentle) and another like-sized, sweet dog. He'd love the fun and active lifestyle...a hike or long walk would put Ranger over the top. There's also no question that Ranger would be the most popular guy on the block. He loves to engage and just be his entertaining, adorable self. Exercise..backyard fun and general playfulness as well as mental stimulation that comes from his time with his humans...will make this guy overjoyed. This is so important to this pup to keep him happy and well-behaved. it's not that he requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep him healthy and stimulated.

This adorable and really humorous Jack Russell mix appears to be a non-shedder...it's difficult to tell however, until Ranger has had the benefit of premium nutrition and the time for his dull shelter hair to grow out. Ranger will therefore require periodic grooming to keep his stunning coat cottony-soft and matt-free.

Ranger will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 6/19/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
