My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: Cricket is in a temporary foster home and is being a perfect houseguest according to her foster parents:) She is housebroken and very sweet and well-mannered and loves going for walks and car rides. Please email us njwoof@cs.com if you are interested in giving her a forever home!

Cricket obviously has had a horrible life up until now and has all the odds stacked against her. She was dumped hanging with milk- her owners obviously sold her puppies and then discarded her like trash. She has a lot of old scars and was wearing a huge thick filthy heavy moldy collar on her little neck. Black dogs are usually the hardest to find homes or rescue for, and being a black pit bull in the pound is pretty much a death sentence. Cricket is a sweet gentle quiet little girl who deserves a chance to be someone's beloved best friend and not a breeding machine or another shelter statistic...please don't make her wait to be saved.

Local Northern NJ dogs need your help ASAP...these are just a few of the sweet young pitties in need of immediate rescue commitment. Some are still in the local pound waiting to be saved. Some we have pulled to keep them safe while we search for other rescues with space for them and are in very temporary boarding, but they need to find placement by 7/3 the latest due to the upcoming holiday. We can arrange for vetting/altering if any rescues are interested for all of these dogs- they just need a safe place to go! Cricket, Jordy, Lucie, Lara, Leah, Linda, and Emily are all very friendly, did well meeting at least opposite sex dogs, and are wonderful dogs who are in danger only due to lack of space as new dogs are being dumped daily in the local pound, too fast for us to keep up. Please email njwoof@cs.com if you can help take even ONE of these dogs into your rescue/shelter...anyone interested in potentially fostering or adopting one of these dogs please email us as well and send an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com ASAP so we can quickly determine if your home would be a good match.

We are in crisis mode right now with too many dogs in need of help and nowhere for them to go, one friendly big pittie boy we were trying to save was already euthanized this week due to lack of interest and space, we don't want any of these dogs to become another statistic. Thank you, please share with any responsible rescuers or dog-lovers!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). To help us better match a pet to your household, we request you fill out an application on our homepage www.secondchance.petfinder.com and copy and paste it into an email, or print it and bring it to our adoption day when you come. Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
