Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Ma D! Mama D is a 65lb, ~8 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler). Mama D was left on the property that Animal Helper purchased.
She loves attention and will nudge you with her head. She is very nosy. Ma D is house- and crate-trained and will go out in the yard easily. She knows how to walk on a leash/harness, too.
She likes to chew on toys so watch your shoes! She will also "steal" items like shoes and other small things. She doesn't chew on these, just takes them back to her bed.
Mama D does very well with other dogs although she will let them know to keep their space. She does not bark often. Ma D did well enough with the one car ride we took; she stood in the back and looked out.
Mama D is a gentle giant. She would love to find a home with plenty of doggy beds and loving hugs and kisses.
Ma D would benefit from a nice yard she can lay around in the shade; she's fine outside for hours obviously prefers to be indoors.
We're working on commands: outside (for backyard), walk (for leashed walk), bedtime, breakfast, dinner, in (for crate). Sit and stay are slow to learn. She does have a habit of walking away if she thinks you're fussing at her.
Mama D has pellets in her from previously being shot. She's spayed & chipped. She's heartworm negative. She's up to date on shots, flea and heartworm prevention. She had a negative fecal and good exam. Shes currently in New Orleans. Email animalhelperneworleans@gmail.com if you'd like to foster or adopt Mama D.
