Malcolm's Story...
If Malcolm doesn't put a smile on your face then nothing will! Malcolm just exudes happiness! This 6 year old Chesapeake Bay retriever/shepherd mix came to us from our Newark facility in search of a fresh start in life. He was picked up as a lost and lonely stray, but he's sure happy to not be alone anymore. Malcolm is calm, cool and lovable, and makes friends very easily. He is so easy going and genuninely nice, that he seems like he is shy at first, but that's not it at all.....he is just that well behaved. Malcolm walks perfectly on a leash, sits politely when asked, and is very gentle with taking treats. He enjoys jogging around in our exercise yard and checking things out and will even run after a ball if you throw it for him. Malcolm doesn't seem to mind other dogs and he just loves everyone he meets. Any good family would be so lucky to have happy Malcolm as a part of their family. File#24934 6/16/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Malcolm, a Forked River Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
